Life Event Photography

‘Life Event Photography’… I have been asked to take photographs at all manner of events which, in some way, commemorate a significant event or date so I shall bring these together under the heading of ‘Life Event Photography’.

Life Event Photography

Something that is very important to explain, I am not a traditional and formal wedding photographer; I have been asked to photograph weddings in an informal style and that is an absolute joy to do but, if you are looking for a formal wedding photographer, drop me a line and I will be happy to recommend some fellow photographers whose work I admire.

I was recently asked to take photographs for a couple who were having a very low-key civil ceremony but wanted some photographs taking ahead of their special day. The brief was ‘urban, funky and definitely not traditional’. We spent a morning taking photographs and their response was:

“Absolutely loved working with Stu, he took the time to scout out locations for an urban couples photoshoot, kept me in the loop with ideas and kept us completely at ease and laughing the whole way through the shoot. The photos are amazing which are proof of his skills!”

Naturally, such an approach would work for any event – birthday, anniversary or a civil ceremony or unconventional wedding whatever you are planning or wishing to commemorate and need a photographer, drop me a line.

As well as taking the ‘commemorative’ photographs, I love taking family photographs and sometimes people will say ‘We’d love some pictures but the kids never sit still’ or (as happened recently) ‘We’d like an outdoor shoot which includes our three horses and four dogs’; for me, this just gives an opportunity to capture the moments that the customer will cherish with everyone being relaxed, being themselves and being spontaneous. Challenging? maybe, but a great deal of fun. Whatever you were looking for, drop me a line and let’s have a chat.

Life Event Photography

Under the heading of ‘Life Events’ let me include a couple of the groups that I have worked with recently. For the Masque Theatre I have taken publicity photographs (including headshots for the programme) for three different productions (The Taming of the Shrew, The Maids & The Hunting of the Snark) and for a for a fabulous Burlesque school. The Flauntettes, I have taken photographs during rehearsals and ‘formal’ publicity shots.

A pre-appointment conversation about your requirements will set mutual expectations about the style of photographs that you would like and will also ensure that any subsequent sitting uses time efficiently. We can arrange a no-obligation conversation by phone/Zoom at a time convenient to yourself. We will discuss what you want and the best location/staging for the photographs. From there, if you wanted to proceed with me taking your photographs, we will arrange the date and time for me to I come to you, camera in hand!

Digital images would be edited and submitted to you within 72 hours – if you wished to have some images printed, I could arrange this though additional costs would be incurred.
